Carmel 4, Vernon Hills 3: Down 3-1, Carmel scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning to pull out a victory. Sally Snarski drove in 2 runs in the fifth with a double. Teammate Kelley Dodge finished with 2 hits and pitcher Erika Schoenfeld got the win. She struck out 7 batters and allowed just 2 walks. For Vernon Hills, Sami Freibrun had 2 hits.
Grayslake North 3, Crystal Lake Central 1: Grayslake North jumped out of the gates, scoring all three of its runs in the first inning. Jordyn Bowen (double) and Christina Freese each had 2 hits while pitcher Nikki Livengood got the win with 7 strikeouts. Livengood also had a double.
Grayslake Central 7, Woodstock 3: Despite making 4 errors, Grayslake Central got the win. Pitcher Tayler Janda led the way with 8 strikeouts over a complete game.
Stevenson 2, Grant 1: Grant scored a run in the bottom of the seventh but could get no closer as Stevenson moves to 5-1 on the season.
Stevenson pitcher Sam Feder rolled up 4 strikeouts in moving her own record to 4-1.
Prairie Ridge 5, Antioch 2: Down 5-0, Antioch scored 2 runs in the sixth inning and then loaded the bases. But the Sequoits weren’t able to capitalize before Prairie Ridge retired the side. Amber Larson drove in a run for Antioch with a single and the other run scored on a walk. Olivia Duehr and Sam Kozenski also had singles in the inning. Kozenski had 2 hits on the game and teammate Jessie Liszka had a double.
