Doubles win sparks Rolling Meadows

A two-set victory was far from easy for Jessica Morkert and Cassy Topolinski in Rolling Meadows’ 9-6 Mid-Suburban East badminton victory over Elk Grove on Tuesday.

Morkert and Topolinski won the No. 1 doubles match 27-25, 23-21. Elk Grove got a win at No. 1 singles from Jenna Ciesielski.

Prospect d. Wheeling: A battle of returning state qualifiers at No. 1 singles highlighted Prospect’s 12-3 MSL East win over Wheeling.

Wheeling’s Hannah Park got past Prospect’s Jackie Hertrich 21-10, 20-22, 21-17. Prospect’s Shea Gallus won at No. 2 singles and Park and Jessica Pena won at No. 1 doubles.

Hoffman d. Schaumburg: Hoffman took the MSL West dual as Maiko Matsubara and Amruta Bhatt won at No. 1 doubles. Sara Partington won at No. 1 singles for Schaumburg.

Fremd d. Barrington: Annie Huang and Angela Wu won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for Fremd in the 12-3 MSL West win. Sydney Slager and Kathy Ho won at Nos. 3 and 4 singles for Barrington.

Buffalo Grove 13, Hersey 2: Michelle Byjos and Nell Boyd won in two sets at No. 1 doubles for Buffalo Grove in the MSL East. Jen Tokarski won at No. 6 singles for Hersey.
