Dist. 214 wins nationwide AP Exam honor
Northwest Suburban High School District 214 won one of the top honors from the College Board for its students performance on AP or advanced placement tests, for high school students doing college-level work. Among mid-size school district, District 214 showed the greatest increase nationwide in the number of students earning AP Exam scores of three or higher. Also, District 214 and two other districts in the Northwest suburbs — Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 and Maine Township High School District 207 — were among 27 public school districts in Illinois that were honored for simultaneously achieving increases in access to AP courses for a broader number of students and also maintaining or improving the rate at which their AP students earned scores of three or higher on an AP Exam. A three is typically the minimum score on the test to qualify for college credit.
