Cops round up 39 in warrant sweep

Thirty-nine people were arrested Thursday as part of a one-day arrest warrant roundup by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit, officials said Friday.

Sheriff’s deputies worked with Illinois State Police, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and police departments from McHenry, Crystal Lake, Cary and Algonquin in the effort, officials said.

Many of the warrants were served on people who were wanted on multiple charges.

In all, nine people were arrested from McHenry; eight from Crystal Lake; five from Woodstock; three each from Lake in the Hills, Algonquin and Cary; two each from Wauconda and Marengo; and one each from Huntley, Barrington, Round Lake, Round Lake Beach and Fox River Grove.
