Blues-rock of Miller coming to ECC

Miller, the band that captured the nation’s hearts and ears during NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” will treat audiences to its Southern-tinged blues-rock at Elgin Community College’s Arts Center Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26. Both shows start at 8 p.m. at the college, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.
Fronted by now 17-year-old harmonica prodigy L.D. Miller, with his brothers Cole and Clayton on guitar, drums and vocals, Miller is a band that born not made. The band has opened for or shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, John Popper of Blues Traveler, Alicia Keys, India Arie, Keb Mo, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Joe Bonamassa, Ziggy Marley, Joss Stone, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, and Ricky Skaggs. Famed guitarist Joe Bonamassa stated that L.D. “plays like John Popper, Little Walter, and James Cotton all in one. He’s got the fire and the soul.”
The band won second place during 2006’s America’s Got Talent, which drew more than 50 million viewers. Audiences were captivated by L.D. Miller’s frenetic and fearless harmonica performances.
Tickets are $20 for the Feb. 25 show and $25 for Feb. 26. A three-course, preshow, barbecue-themed gourmet dinner prepared by students of ECC’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program can be purchased for an additional $21. Dinners must be purchased in advance on or before Wednesday, Feb. 23.
