Round Lake's Carter scores 37 in victory
Juddon Carter was unstoppable.
Round Lake's junior guard scored a career-high 37 points to lift the Panthers to a 65-49 win over Johnsburg in the Grant Holiday Tournament on Tuesday.
Carter made 13 shots from the floor, including seven 3-pointers, and was 4 of 4 from the foul line.
Nick Lange added 12 points for Round Lake (4-8, 1-2 tourney), which plays Lakes at 4 p.m. today in the fifth-place game.
Richmond-Burton 61, Grant 58: At Grant, Jerry Gaylor scored 15 points for the host Bulldogs, who led 43-42 after three quarters.
Grant (6-4, 2-1 tourney) plays Northridge Prep at 5:30 p.m. today in the third-place game.
Richmond-Burton faces McHenry in the championship game at 7 p.m.
Vernon Hills 52, Elmwood Park 45: In a nonconference game, the Cougars improved to 10-0 behind a season-high 17 points from Darren Hoveydai and 12 from DaVaris Daniels.
Barrington 63, Prairie Ridge 30: Barrington wrapped up pool play in the Jacobs tournament with a 63-30 triumph over Prairie Ridge on Tuesday.
Junior guard Tyler Weathered led the way with a game-high 13 points, senior Lukas Osmundsen had 12 points and sophomore Brad Zaumseil had 10 points for the Broncos (8-5).
Barrington was without double-digit scorer Greg Gerrard for the fourth straight game; he's nursing an ankle injury.
Junior Sean Valentine led Prairie Ridge (1-9) with 12 points.
Barrington will face Huntley at 6 p.m. today.
Elk Grove 54, Tilden 45: John Lorenz produced a team-best 21 points and canned 3 3-pointers in the third quarter, when the Grens outscored Tilden 16-5, to help Elk Grove complete pool play at Jacobs with a victory.
Anthony Jimenez scored 9 points for Elk Grove (4-7).
Williams Jones scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high 25 points for Tilden.
