Unpump the volume, Carpentersville

As a resident of Carpentersville, the level of music that comes from passing vehicles is becoming a nuisance. The city of Carpentersville should enforce a noise ordinance, just like the one Elgin enforces.

Those drivers that blast their music in their vehicles are not hearing our local emergency vehicles as they progress down the streets. Those emergency vehicles have extremely loud sirens and they are not being heard over the blaring music from oncoming drivers. Everyone can agree that rush hour traffic is not the most pleasant of situations that we have to deal with on a daily basis. Rush hour is even worse when you can hear the driver's music next to you over your own.

Loud music in traffic is tolerable, but when you are trying to sleep in the middle of the night and all you can hear is the bumping of loud, obnoxious music rolling down the street it is definitely time for a change. Personally, there should be a quiet time from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. where there cannot be any loud music played in a residential area while the residents are trying to sleep.

I believe that if the village of Carpentersville enforces an ordinance that mandates a lower level of music playing, our town as a whole will become a quieter town.
