Advocate Condell Medical Center Gala raises $150,000

This year's Advocate Condell Medical Center gala raised $150,000, hospital officials announced. Nearly 250 people attended the disco-themed ball held at the Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove on Nov. 6.

The money will benefit the Heart and Vascular Center being built within the new West Patient Tower scheduled to open this coming April.

The 175,000 square-foot tower will include all private adult inpatient rooms along with the Heart and Vascular center. In keeping with Advocate Health Care's faith-based tradition, the tower will also feature a 1,200 square-foot chapel.

Presented by the Advocate Condell Auxiliary, this was the 19th year for the Gala. Chairs of this year's event were Drs. Elliott and Angelique Cohen of Grayslake.

The committee included Mayssa Nahlawi of Vernon Hills; Kathleen Gross of Hawthorn Woods; Kaari Kafer of Chicago; Jennifer Madhani of Vernon Hills; Tamara Stick of Palatine; Lynne Kuhl of Round Lake Beach; Stephanie Hvostik of Glenview; Laura LaCombe of Vernon Hills; Sandra Ghantous of Riverwoods; Audrey Johnson, Sandra Marquardt, Vivian Naylor and Bonnie Quirke, all of Libertyville; Elena Shapiro of Long Grove; and Ann Marie Shupe of Mundelein.
