Kane area candidates at two forums
• The Dundee-Rutland committee of the Elgin Area League of Women Voters has invited candidates for the offices of Kane County clerk, treasurer and sheriff and for the Kane County Board Districts 19, 21 and 23, as well as the candidates for the 16th Judicial District to participate in a candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 14. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center of the Dundee Township Recreation Center, routes 68 and 25 in Carpentersville.
These candidates from the Democratic, Republican and Green parties who are opposed in the General Election on Nov. 2 will be asked to speak briefly on their candidacies and to answer written questions from the audience. • The U-46 community will get to ask questions of the candidates running in the November general election at a special Candidates Forum Friday, Oct. 15.
The forum, hosted by the U-46 Citizens Advisory Council, will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at South Elgin High School, 760 E. Main St. Forum participants include the incumbents and their challengers: Sen. Michael Noland and Steven J. Rauschenberger, Senate-22nd District; Rep. Randy Ramey and Gregory Brownfield, House-55th District; Rep. Keith Farnham and Ruth Munson, House-43rd District.
Each candidate will be given time to share their political background and plans if elected. They will also answer questions drafted by the CAC's Legislative Committee, as well as questions from the audience. Translation into Spanish will be provided.
