ECC's fine arts instructors put their own work on display

An exhibition featuring artwork from 15 Elgin Community College fine arts faculty members will be held from Monday, Aug. 23 through Thursday, Sept. 30, in Safety-Kleen Gallery One. The gallery is inside the ECC Arts Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

"When faculty display the depth of their skills and knowledge outside the classroom setting, they communicate their artistic visions in tangible and exciting ways," said Ed Krantz, the college's gallery curator and an exhibitor.

In addition to Krantz, the exhibit features the following faculty: Howard Russo, professor of visual arts; Connie Orbeta, professor of graphic design; Joel Peck, associate professor of art; Travis Linville, art instructor of photography; and art instructors Eddwin Meyers, Sigrid Wonsil, Doreen Rasmussen, Daniel Josh, Peggy Dee, Claire St. John, Ellen Vartanian-Maher, Phillip Saindon, Dennis Markley and Nancy Starrenburg.

A free reception will be held for the artists from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, in Safety-Kleen Gallery One. Refreshments will be served and the public can meet and speak with the artists.

For more information, contact Ed Krantz, gallery curator, at (847) 214-7405 or ekrantz@elgin.edu.
