Manzullo town hall meeting:U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo will meet with his McHenry County constituents today at town hall-style meetings in Algonquin and Crystal Lake. Manzullo, a Republican from Egan, will be at the Algonquin Village Hall, 2200 Harnish Drive, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., then the Algonquin Township offices, 3702 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Manzullo will open the meetings with some brief remarks, focusing on efforts to return economic prosperity to the country. He then will turn the floor over to citizens for comments and questions. For more information, visit manzullo.house.gov/americaspeakingout/.Fundraiser for Welzien:An island-style fundraiser to benefit Bob Welzien will take place starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the West Dundee VFW, 117 S. First St. The party, dubbed "Bob's Margaritaville Blowout" will help the Welzien family pay medical bills for Bob, 39, of West Dundee, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma. Part of the proceeds also will help his family replace the roof on their house. A $15 donation at the door includes food and one drink. Auction and raffle items will be available. DJ's Franz and Laura will provide the music.District 300 offers free meals:Community Unit District 300 is offering free meals this summer to eligible residents 18 and younger as well as people over 18 who are enrolled in a state-approved program for the mentally or physically disabled. Free meals will be available at Dundee-Crown High School, Carpentersville Middle School, Lakewood School, Golfview Elementary School, Parkview Elementary School, Perry Elementary School and the deLacey Family Education Center. The cost is $2 for adults, $1 for kids, and free for members of the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., at Lords Park.
