Farmers market opening: The Aurora Farmers Market at West Aurora Plaza, 1951 W. Galena Blvd., opens Wednesday and runs from 2 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday through Sept. 15. The market offers fresh, locally grown produce, prepared foods and handcrafted products. The city also offers a Farmers Market from 8 a.m. until noon Saturdays at the Aurora Transportation Center, 233 N. Broadway. Illinois Ave., from Friday to July 15 and at West Aurora High School on show days. Show times are 7 p.m. July 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. July 18.St. Charles Singles Club:Singles 40 and older are invited to DJ dances Monday and July 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 4070 E. Main St., St. Charles. Admission is $8 and includes a professional dance lesson from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and dancing from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Other activities for the club, now in its 33rd year, include game nights, dinners, Saturday breakfasts, Pinochle, bowling, miniature golf and more.
