Klich scores game-winner for Glenbard South

Glenbard South 5, Elmwood Park 4: Jenny Klich doubled with one out in the bottom of the seventh, and scored as Brianna Meath's grounder was muffed and trickled into left field.

Winning pitcher Danielle Chitkowski and Jenny Wittenberg homered for Glenbard South (27-3) in a potential preview of a Class 3A supersectional. Elmwood Park is the top seed in the opposite sectional to Glenbard South.

Neuqua Valley 7, Larkin 0: Sarah Gronowski hit a grand slam and Jenna Marsalli slugged her 11th homer, tying her for the area lead with Glenbard North's Jenny Nelson. Colleen Hohman also went deep for the ninth time for Neuqua (22-10, 13-6 Upstate Eight Conference).

Benet 2, St. Viator 1: Nora McGuire's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the sixth drove in the tying and go-ahead runs for the Redwings (19-14, 11-7 East Suburban Catholic Conference). Allyson Staats (17-9) threw a 3-hitter, striking out four.

Wheaton North 22, Glenbard East 3: Paige Evangelista's grand slam highlighted a 13-run seventh for the Falcons (23-9, 7-7 DuPage Valley Conference). Evangelista went 3-for-5 with a double and 7 RBI. Kelsey Ullrich homered twice, hit 2 doubles and drove in 3.

Fenton 12, Ridgewood 3: Marissa Vazquez went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for the visiting Bison (13-21, 3-12 Metro Suburban Conference). Sarah Overlin went 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI and Stephanie Bennett tripled and drove in 3.

Glenbard West 5, York 1: Bri Wyatt went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, a stolen base and RBI for the Hilltoppers (13-16, 7-4 West Suburban Conference Silver). Taylor Steinhilber struck out seven.

Downers Grove South 11, Willowbrook 1: Dana Gawel homered, doubled and drove in 3 runs for the Mustangs (24-6, 11-1 West Suburban Conference Gold). Katy LaCivita went 2-for-3 with a double and Marissa Mersch 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored, a stolen base and RBI. Nicole Interrante homered for Willowbrook.

Addison Trail 17, Proviso East 1: Katie Klco fired a 1-hitter and the Blazers pounded out 17 hits.
