Josh Kranz went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and 4 RBI while Mark Self and Henry Gigeous each went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Greg Leasure earned the victory, tossing 51/3 innings and striking out 5.
Burlington Central 20, Stillman Valley 0: The Rockets (15-1, 2-0) continued to stay hot on offense as they exploded for 20 runs off 10 hits to pick up another victory in this Big Northern crossover. Huntley 11, Crystal Lake Central 10: The Red Raiders (11-1, 5-0) came from behind to pull out another victory and remain undefeated in the Fox Valley Conference, despite committing 6 errors on the afternoon. Chris Klein (2B, 3 RBI) and Bryce Only (2 RBI) each homered for the Red Raiders while Matt Szytz added a double and 2 RBI. Carlos Alvarez earned the victory as he pitched 12/3 innings, scattering 3 hits and striking out 2 while giving up 1 earned run. Klein picked up the save.
Streamwood 15, East Aurora 3: The Sabres (8-4, 3-1) easily defeated the Tomcats of East Aurora to earn another victory in Upstate Eight Conference action. Nate Pearson (2 runs, 3 RBI) and Mike Diebold (3-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI) not only sparked the Sabres offensively, but also played solid defensively. Richie Gorski picked up the win as he gave up just 1 hit over 2 innings of work while striking out 2.
Crystal Lake South 8, Prairie Ridge 4: The Gators (7-6, 5-2) used timely hitting to defeat the Wolves in this Fox Valley Conference game. Mike Benson (1-1) earned his first victory of the year on the mound to lead the Gators while Billy Wright turned in a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate to ignite the offense.
Neuqua Valley 10, South Elgin 0: The Storm (7-4, 2-3) could not overcome the Wildcats' offense as they were defeated in this Upstate Eight Conference game on the road. Drew Buddle was the lone Storm player to record a multihit game with 2 singles. Nick Schweisthal suffered the loss going 21/3 with 7 hits allowed and 9 earned runs.
