Author to read from Salinger memoir

Greg Herriges, an English professor at Harper College, will read Thursday from his memoir about meeting J.D. Salinger, "JD: A Memoir of a Time and a Journey."

In the mid 1970s, Herriges drove from Chicago to New Hampshire to visit the literary legend and wrote a narrative of his adventure. The reading is at 12:15 p.m. March 18 in the Drama Lab, Room L109, Building L of Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. The event is free and the public is welcome.
