Lower speed limitThe posted speed limit for Roosevelt Road, from east of Kautz Road to Town Road in West Chicago, has been reduced from 55 to 50 mph. The change was made after a traffic and engineering speed study conducted by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Signs with the new speed limit already are in place. West Chicago police are giving a 10-day grace period before enforcement action will be taken. Gently used or new children's clothes, toys, books, accessories and household items will be on sale. The proceeds will be used to support programs at the school.
