Glenbard South upends DeKalb
Glenbard South did what neither Batavia, Geneva nor Kaneland had been able to do - beat Western Sun Conference leader DeKalb.
The Raiders won 67-66 in DeKalb. Mike Rovansek made seven 3-pointers and scored a team-high 24 points, as Glenbard South (4-5, 2-3) also got 15 points from Joe Harks. DeKalb was led by Illinois State recruit Jordan Threloff with a game-high 31 points.
St. Francis 57, Marian Central 43: The Spartans won for the second time this season but remained perfect in the Suburban Christian Blue, clinching the win in Wheaton with a 20-point fourth quarter. Ryan Coyle scored 18 points and Joe Pfeiffer had 13 for St. Francis (2-5, 2-0).
Wheaton Academy 65, St. Edward 33: The host Warriors remained perfect on the season, beating their Suburban Christian Gold foe in West Chicago. Tim Rusthoven scored a game-high 25 points to least Wheaton Academy (9-0, 3-0).
Glenbard North 79, West Chicago 31: James Fleming's 22 points headed the Panthers' DuPage Valley Conference win over the host Wildcats. Reggie Davis added 13 points and Catrell Hilliard 10 for Glenbard North (4-3, 2-1). West Chicago (0-9, 0-3) was led by Kevin Peterson's 6 points.
Illiana Christian 66, Fenton 52: The Bison lost their first game this season in the Metro Sun Conference. Fenton (4-5, 2-1) was led by Emeka Umeadi's 19 points.
Aurora Central Catholic 55, Immaculate Conception 52: In the Suburban Christian Gold contest in Elmhurst, visiting ACC (6-2, 2-1) won on Paul Kaminski's 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining. Joey Guth scored 20 and Kent Brauweiler had 16 for ACC. Immaculate Conception (5-3, 1-2) was led by Demetrius Mobley with 14 points and Michael Randick with 13.
