Northwest Festival Orchestra holding fall concert

The Northwest Festival Orchestra will feature piano soloist Nolan Pearson performing Beethoven for its fall concert, 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, in the "J" Building Theater at Harper College, 1200 Algonquin Road, Palatine.

Pearson, winner of Northwestern's Aria Concerto Competition, will perform Piano Concerto #5 by Beethoven. Artistic Director and Resident Conductor Verne Schwager will share the podium with Maestro Michael Holian, professor emeritus at Wright College and music director of the Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra. They will conduct performance of compositions by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Auber and others.

Tickets can be purchased at the door ($25 adult/$15 student) or in advance by calling (847) 392-9003 or the Harper College Box Office, (847) 925-6100. Contributions to sustain the orchestra may be sent to: 1009 S. Evergreen Ave, Arlington Heights., IL 60005. The Northwest Festival Orchestra serves the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Since its founding, under the artistic direction of Dr. Verne Schwager, it has brought together premiere musicians.
