Monday's Fox Valley roundup
Huntley (19-1-1, 9-0-0) registered two first half goals and held on en route to a 2-0 girls soccer victory over Prairie Ridge Thursday, wrapping up the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division title for the Red Raiders.
Kaylee O'Brien scored off a feed from Corinne Wronski in the 3rd minute to give the Red Raiders an early lead. Wronski then registered an insurance goal of her own in the 16th minute to close out the scoring. Kaytlyn Owens made 4 saves on the day for Huntley.
Burlington Central 7, North Boone 0: Madalene Stoneman registered a hat trick to propel Burlington Central (3-9-1, 2-3-1) to a victory over North Boone in this Big Northern East Conference matchup. Jessica Martinez, Michelle Fowler, Alexandra Tarr, and Emily Ramsey each added a goal for the Rockets.
Hampshire 6, Marengo 1: Hampshire (8-2-2, 8-0) proved to be too much for Marengo scoring 6 goals in this Big Northern East victory. Christine Schumacher paced the Whip Purs' offense registering a hat trick. Kelly Plichta, Cassie Dumoulin, and Kelsey Burker also scored goals for Hampshire. Alex Heinrich made 5 saves in goal. Hampshire clinched the BN-East title with the win.
Neuqua Valley 7, Streamwood 0: Pearl Patel had 10 saves in goal for Streamwood (3-11-3, 2-5-2) in this Upstate Eight loss.
Cary-Grove 5, Dundee-Crown 1: Korey Kronforst led Cary-Grove (14-2, 8-0) with two goals as the Trojans topped Fox Valley Conference Valley Division opponent Dundee-Crown to clinch at least a tie for the division title. Brittany Kroening, Kelli Anderson, and Sally Tashjin each recorded a goal for the Trojans. Alex Holland made 2 saves in goal for Cay-Grove.
Jacobs 3, Crystal Lake South 2: Crystal Lake South (9-10, 6-3) and Jacobs (8-9-2, 4-3) battled it out in this Fox Valley Conference Valley Division matchup. The game was decided on penalty kicks after the score remained tied at 2-2 after the second overtime. The Gators took a 2-0 lead on goals from Emma Dalzell and Carly Juliano. The Golden Eagles responded with goals from Keley Quitschau and Kristen Smith, the latter of the goals coming at the 79:25 mark. Jacobs then won the deciding shootout 4-1. Alyssa Barnard and Jessica Taldone combined for 15 saves for the Golden Eagles.
