Kennedy shuts out Antioch

Sean Kennedy was on top of his game Thursday.

The Warren senior pitched a 5-hitter with 9 strikeouts, as the Blue Devils' baseball team shut out Antioch 5-0.

Kennedy also homered. Pat Oliver went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Warren (6-5).

Lake Zurich 5, Grant 2: Tyler Schmitz and Ricky Erickson (2 RBI) each went 2-for-3 for the Bears in a North Suburban crossover Thursday.

Austin Cox improved to 3-1 by allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run over 6 innings. Parker Asmann pitched the seventh for the save for Lake Zurich (9-5-1).

Nate Lucas gave Grant (3-6-1) an early lead thanks to a 2-run double in the first inning. Lucas finished 2-for-3.

Stevenson 7, Vernon Hills 1: Sam Lebovitz homered for the Patriots, while Joe McWeeny (double, RBI) and Kyle Ruchim (triple, RBI) each went 2-for-3.

Brad Sorkin went the distance on the mound, striking out seven while allowing 3 hits, as the Patriots improved to 10-1.
