Teen charged in burglary:
A Prospect Heights teen has been charged in stealing money and items from the Lake Run Condominiums Office, 16 E. Old Willow Road, Prospect Heights, on two separate occasions last month. Police charged Jeramie L. Kochlefl-Bodner, 19, of the 1200 block of Cove Drive in Prospect Heights, with two counts of burglary. Police said Kochlefl-Bodner entered the condominium management office on March 20 without consent and stole money, a UPS package containing computer equipment and a mail package containing cellular phone accessories. He was caught on videotape surveillance and later identified by witnesses who had previous contact with the teen, police said. On March 30, Kochlefl-Bodner and a second suspect entered the management office and stole money, police said. The burglary was again caught on videotape and Kochlefl-Bodner was identified by witnesses, police said. Kochlefl-Bodner's bond was set at $15,000. He must appear in Rolling Meadows court on May 1.
O'Hare hearing canceled:
A public hearing regarding the environmental impact of O'Hare International Airport expansion scheduled for Friday has been canceled. It will be re-scheduled but no date is available now. The meeting will be hosted by State Rep. Rosemary Mulligan. A bill currently pending in the House Environmental Health Committee of the Illinois General Assembly seeks funding for an independent environmental impact study this year in the communities surrounding O'Hare. Mulligan said the current study, which was paid for by Chicago, has proved flawed since the opening earlier this year of a new north runway. Citizens are invited to speak on how their personal environment is being impacted by the runway and the O'Hare Modernization Program.
