Glass Sampler Class: 1-4 p.m., Saturdays in January; Suevel Studios, Inc., 1021 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Students will try mosaic, fusing, bead making and glass blowing. Register for one or all four. Cost: $160 for all four classes or $45 for one. Ages 14 and up. ahpd.org.
Keepsake quilt: Finished quilt squares due at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, Indian Trails Public Library District, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling. Celebrate the Indian Trails Public Library's 50th Anniversary by helping make a keepsake quilt to hang in the library. Feb. 7
Used Book Sale: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, Prairie Elementary School, 1530 Brandywyn Lane, Buffalo Grove. The school is having their first used book sale, open to the public. Feb. 21
Grayslake North High School craft show: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 1925 N. Route 83, Grayslake. Over 50 vendors, free admission. Proceeds benefit lowering the cost of prom 2009 for the students.
March 7
Spring fashion and gift show: The Schaumburg High School VIP Club invites vendors to participate in its Spring Fashion & Gift Show on March 7. They are seeking a variety of offerings such as jewelry, candles, handbags, accessories, fragrances, skin care as well as unique and whimsical gift ideas. 50 spaces are available. Two fashion shows will also be held during the event, featuring spring apparel and prom fashions sponsored by local retailers. Fremd High School Spring Boutique: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, William Fremd High School, 1000 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Over 100 crafters offering quality merchandise in a variety of media, raffles. Hosted by the Fremd Boosters Club, proceeds benefit sports programs and student organizations. Free parking and admission.
Kirk School Spring Showcase of Arts and Crafts: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 7 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the school, 520 S. Plum Grove Road, Palatine. Over 95 exhibitor booths in a variety of media. Entertainment, door prizes, cafe, bake sale.
