Briefs: District closes on Hobson land

Naperville Park District officially closed Friday on six acres in the Hobson West neighborhood. The closing followed a standard 60-day due diligence investigation of the property that included environmental testing, home inspection, community engagement and site analysis. The results of the investigation showed no concerns regarding the acquisition. The district will pay Crestview Builders $2.5 million. It already owns nine acres that make up two ponds on the site. Staff will begin preparing for the demolition of the structures on the land.

Main St. and Lombard village hall on Wilson Avenue. Nonperishable food, paper products and hygiene items also are being collected at bins in the village hall lobby. For details on the coat drive, call Cronin's office at (630) 792-0040. For information on the food drive, call Carol Bauer in the village manager's office at (630) 620-5712.
