Appreciates time Crespo put into wind turbine

It is not often that an elective official would spend so much time and effort to support our educational system and at the same time improve our environment.

For the past year Rep. Fred Crespo has been at the forefront of trying to pass legislation that will allow suburban school districts to build a wind turbine farm in central Illinois rather than in the back yards of our residential communities. Rep. Crespo has given many hours of his time meeting with school representative and our utility providers to try and work out a non-legislative solution in an effort of understanding and co-operation.

When all the negotiations proved to be stalled then Rep. Crespo went into action and got House Bill 6660 drafted and on July 1, 2008 filed. On July 14, 2008 it had its first reading and on the same day sent to the Rules Committee. In the true spirit of the Jimmy Stewart movie, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," Rep. Crespo did what we would hope every elected official would do -- represent the people in the district that elected him.

Thank you, Fred Crespo and all you have done for the children in your district. I only wish you were my representative in Springfield so that I could vote for you in this election.
