Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.

Last week: Wheaton North 26, Lake Zurich 7; Glenbard North 34, Crystal Lake South 17.

Last year: Glenbard North 36, Wheaton North 13.

Outlook: Which defense can do a better job slowing a potent and balanced offense? Taking center stage is Glenbard North's quarterback-running back duo of Evan Watkins and Tyler Doll, countered by Wheaton North's Taylor Graham and Mike Trumpy. Doll and Trumpy posted 200-yard rushing performances last week, Trumpy for a second straight game. Watkins threw for 3 touchdowns in the opener while Graham threw for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. Glenbard North, which struggled on the ground in Week 1, responded by emphasizing the running game. Now everything's on the table for both offenses. Panthers tackle Charleston Soko has been great, notching 13 tackles against Crystal Lake South. Lake Zurich moved the ball on the Falcons, but 7 points allowed in two games shows the defensive toughness.
