Lights on the Lake coming Aug. 31

The Crystal Lake Park Foundation is holding its annual Lights on the Lake event from 5 to 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31 at Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive in Crystal Lake. Boaters are wanted to participate. The theme is "Oldies but Goodies." There is no fee to participate. R.S.V.P. by Aug. 29. David Radford, and Jake and Elwood Blooze, of the Blooze Brothers will be performing. There will also be food and beverage tents, kids games and a treasure hunt. There is a $2 entry fee.

Note: The Park Foundation will not be having a fireworks display as previously advertised. The purpose of this event is to help raise funds for the Crystal Lake Park District Scholarship program. Each year, the park district receives hundreds of requests for financial assistance. The Park Foundation holds three events each year to raise funds to help families afford to register their child (ren) for the Extended Time and Summer Day Camp programs.
