The Lombard Area American Association of University Women will accept donations for its annual book sale from 5 to 8 p.m. July 11 and 18 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 and 19 at First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St. Textbooks, encyclopedia sets, magazines and Reader's Digest editions will not be accepted. For those not able to drive, call (630) 932-0224 to have donations picked up. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit the AAUW scholarship fund.

The Bloomingdale Public Library's Teen Advisory Group will be collecting party supplies all summer for the Humanitarian Service Project's Party-in-a-Box program, which distributes the supplies to low-income children on their birthdays. Needed items include: cake mix and frosting, candles, balloons, cups, plates, napkins, streamers, party favors, party hats, treat bags, decorations, tablecloths, forks, disposable cake pans, sand buckets, gift bags and other items to hold party supplies.
