As a "Great Books" seminar, the sessions will involve discussing the questions and comments raised by the readers and will be moderated by a non-expert (in this case, the resident seminarian, Shawn Gould). It is not necessary to have studied Plato or philosophy in general. The seminar assumes that most readers will have only read the text for the first time. Future sessions will contrast Plato's classical view of life after death with a Christian understanding.
