Football

• Spring registration for Panther Junior Football and Cheerleading will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Woodridge Park District Community Center, 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge.

Panther Junior Football draws from Bolingbrook, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Lemont, Lisle, Oak Brook, Westmont, Willowbrook and Woodridge.

All girls and boys ages 7 to 14 are welcome to register. The child must turn 7 years old by Aug. 1. A copy of the birth certificate is required. The cost is $280 for football players and $220 for cheerleaders.

• Registration is being accepted for the Chicago Bears youth football camps, which will be held this summer around the Chicago area.

Bears camps are no-contact day camps for kids ages 6 to 14.

Local camps include: June 16-20 at B.R. Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn; June 23-27 at Franklin Middle School in Wheaton; July 7-11 at Heritage YMCA in Naperville; July 14-18 at Indian Boundary YMCA in Downers Grove; and July 21-25 at Elmhurst College.

Baseball

• Elmhurst Extreme Baseball and Fastball USA are teaming up for a spring throwing/pitching camp from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Fastball USA in Elmhurst. Camp is open to kids ages 7 to 12.

The camp will be run by a Fastball USA instructor, with assistance from Elmhurst Extreme 12-year-old team and Blackbelt pitching students. The cost is $60.

• The Roselle Rampage will host a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition from 4 to 6:30 p.m. May 4 at Alexian Field in Schaumburg.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. They can advance through four levels of competition, with the national finals at the 2008 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Tennis

• Benet Academy in Lisle will host three tennis camps in June and July. All three camps will have two sessions, June 9-19 and June 23 to July 3.

The Beginner Camp for children entering second through seventh grades runs from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The cost is $70 per session.

The High School Camp for those entering grades nine to 12 runs from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $150 per session.

The Junior High Camp for those entering sixth through eighth grades runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $150 per session.

• The Wheaton North High School summer tennis camp will be June 16-18 at Wheaton North High School or Northside Park. All camps are co-ed.

Session for high school ninth-graders beginner/intermediate will run from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.; session for grades 11-12 intermediate/advanced runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; session for grade 10 intermediate runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost of each high school camp is $150.

The session for grades five through eighth beginner/intermediate runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; session for grades three to five beginner/intermediate runs from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; session for grades first through third beginner/intermediate runs from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost of each grade school and junior high school camp is $110.

Track and field

The Aurora Flyers Track Club will host the Boatright/Fox Valley Grade School Classic May 3 at East Aurora High School.

The track meet is open to third- through sixth-graders, with homeschoolers welcome. First- and second-graders may compete as third-graders.

The cost is $5 per athlete; all entries must be received with payment by April 30. Meet-day entries will not be accepted.

Wrestling

• Martinez Elite wrestling classes are being offered at Marmion Academy in Aurora from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco wrestling will be taught. Instruction will be provided by Jose and Nathan Martinez. Wrestlers will need a current copy of a USA wrestling card.
