Brian Sager was named interim vice president for learning and student support services at McHenry County College. Sager has served as an instructor of animal and plant science and economics since 1990. He also has served as faculty association president for the last eight years. Off campus, Sager serves as mayor for the city of Woodstock and is currently serving a two-year term as president of the McHenry County Council of Governments.
Community Consolidated School District 15 named Rebecca J. Allard assistant superintendent for business and auxiliary services effective July 1. Allard is currently assistant superintendent of business services for Geneva Community Unit School District 304, a position she has held for the past five years.
Prescient Solutions, Schaumburg named Jeff Scheper chief executive officer; James E. Lagattuta, president and chief financial officer; and hired Tom Pettenon as vice president of client services.
South Barrington resident Linda S. Parker was promoted from manager to team leader at Petlane, a direct seller of specialty items for pets. Parker has progressed from pet advisor to manager and now team leader in less than two years.
Central Life Sciences, Schaumburg, hired Dean Gaiser as regional sales manager, responsible for the newly created Northwest region.
The Des Plaines-based National Insurance Crime Bureau appointed Joseph H. Wehrle, Jr., senior vice president and chief operating officer. Wehrle previously served as president of USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group.
Fifth Third Bank announced that John C. Hein, Thomas G. Jeffery and Klay Schmeisser were named senior vice presidents in its National Institutional Real Estate Group based in Chicago.
Christine Berberich was named vice president, customer service, Midwest area for Schaumburg-based Verizon Wireless, to oversee the daily operations for the area's seven customer service centers. Berberich, a 14-year veteran of Verizon Wireless and its legacy companies, most recently served as area director for training operations.
Daniel Perkins and Dale Sorenson have joined Crowe Chizek and Company LLC as executives in the risk consulting business unit. Perkins and Sorenson, both of whom have more than 25 years of experience in treasury management, will be based in Oak Brook.
Inland Communications Inc. appointed Richard J. Jurek chief executive officer of the in-house marketing and communication company of the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies. Jurek previously served as the global director of corporate communications at The Northern Trust Company.
Rosemont-based Opus North Corporation hired John D. Carlson as a real estate representative to work primarily in the office sector. Carlson will help execute office development and leasing strategies in the Chicago market.

With over 20 years of financial industry experience, James McCarthy of Crystal Lake joined Amcore Bank, as a vice president and senior portfolio manager, responsible for the investment management of client portfolios.
St. Charles resident and attorney Leanne Walsh Klein was re-elected to a seventh term as treasurer of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. Walsh Klein is chief of operations for Premier Title Company, Arlington Heights and Oak Brook, a policy-issuing agent for Chicago Title and First American Title. Additionally, attorney James F. Cooke of St. Charles was also re-elected to the board of directors of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. Cooke is principal of the Law Officers of James F. Cooke Ltd., St. Charles, where he concentrates in real estate, estate planning and business/transactional law.
Donna Gutman of Chicago and Cindy Wolfson of Highland Park were installed as national board members of the National Council of Jewish Women during its 44th national convention in Chicago.
Takeda Global Research and Development Center Inc., Deerfield, appointed Dr. Bob Spanheimer and Dr. Atul R. Mahableshwarkar senior medical directors in the cardiovascular and neuroscience therapeutic area; and Dr. Eckhard Leifke medical director, diabetes.
Joanne Townsend joined Zebra Technologies Corporation, Vernon Hills, as vice president of human resources. Townsend previously served as vice president, human resources for Andrew Wireless Solutions.
Brent Alan McIntosh of Elmhurst joined Elk Grove Village-based Des Plaines Office Equipment as a sales consultant, responsible for generating news business and bringing document technology systems solutions to current and future clients in the DuPage County region.
