• The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago, representing more than 400,000 Muslim Americans in the area, raised donations during the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha in December to donate 24,000 pounds of ground beef to the Greater Chicago Food Depository Jan. 7.
