Good Shepherd lends hand by donating to area food pantries
To help its community organizations that help others in need, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital has provided more than 110 9-pound hams to eight area food pantries and shelters in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Good Shepherd is part of Advocate Health Care, a faith-based organization that exists to serve its communities.
Just last year, Advocate Health Care provided more than $296,000,000 in community benefits.
The following community organizations together received more than 1,000 pounds of spiral-cut ham from Good Shepherd: The Interfaith Food Pantry of Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills Area Food Bank, Grafton Township Food Bank, Ela Township/St Francis de Paul Society Food Pantry, Cary Food Pantry; Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry, Cuba Township Food Pantry and Marengo Area Food Panty.
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington is a 183-bed medical care facility with more than 600 physicians representing 45 medical specialties.
