French Hot Chocolate

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup water1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 cups (1 pint) heavy cream8 cups (2 quarts) milkIn saucepan over low heat melt chocolate pieces with corn syrup and water. Pour into glass measuring cup or small bowl and chill until cool. Stir in vanilla.In mixing bowl beat cream at medium speed while gradually adding chocolate mixture. Continue beating until mixture just mounds. Spoon fluffy chocolate whipped cream into a crystal serving bowl and refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving. Just before serving scald milk in pan and pour into warmed serving pot.To serve, divide whipped chocolate mixture among 12 mugs and fill with hot milk. Milk will melt the chocolate cream.Serves 12. Nutrition values per serving: 310 calories, 22 g fat (14 g saturated), 24 g carbohydrates, 1 g fiber, 6 g protein, 76 mg cholesterol, 112 mg sodium.
