Cardiologist to discuss heart failure at free talk Sept. 12 in Huntley

Dr. Mubashir Ahmed, a board-certified cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care, will talk to community members about the signs and symptoms of heart failure Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Heart failure is a progressive condition where the heart doesn't pump well enough to meet the body's needs for blood and oxygen. Ahmed will describe the signs and symptoms of heart failure.

"Beyond the Beat: Signs & Symptoms of Heart Failure" will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Centegra Hospital-Huntley, 10400 Haligus Road, in the Foglia Family Foundation Education Center in the hospital's lower level.

The "Healthy Doses" series will continue Tuesday, Sept. 26, when Dr. David Shinherr, a chiropractor with Centegra Physician Care, discusses the causes of low back pain and sciatica, a pain that radiates down the leg.

Shinherr will talk about proper diagnosis, treatment options and a comprehensive coordinated care model.

"Battling Back Pain: Managing Lower Back Pain and Sciatica" will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 E. Congress Parkway, Conference Room D.
