Teens can sign up for 'Stable of Support' camp

JourneyCare and Main Stay Therapeutic Farm in Richmond have partnered to offer "Stable of Support," a special one-day grief program for teens, ages 13-17 who are coping with the loss of a loved one.

"Stable of Support" will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the farm, 6919 Keystone Road, Richmond. A pizza lunch will be provided.

Participating teens will spend hands-on time in small group activities with the farm's herd of horses and small, rescued farm animals, learning how they can help themselves during this difficult time.

The animals' nonjudgmental nature and ability to live in the present will nurture the teens' spirits. Keepsake honoring loved ones will be provided.

This opportunity is open to McHenry County residents only and is made possible by a grant from the McHenry County Community Foundation.

To RSVP, call Sneha Shah at (847) 556-1792 or visit journeycare.org/stable-of-support-for-teens/.
