Anne Blume named co-managing partner of Cozen O'Connor's Chicago office

Anne Blume has been named co-managing partner of the Chicago office of Cozen O'Connor, one of the top 100 largest law firms in the country. She joins fellow co-managing partners, Joseph Tilson and Tia Ghattas, in leading the office of more than 50 attorneys.

Featured recently in a story by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Blume's area of practice ranges from commercial litigation to professional liability and insurance coverage. She had previously practiced for 20 years with the Chicago-based law firm of Meckler Bulger & Tilson before it combined with Cozen O'Connor in 2015.

Blume has successfully represented architects, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, lawyers, and land surveyors in hundreds of professional liability cases. These claims have involved conventional, commercial, and residential structures, as well as roads, bridges, traffic engineering, power plants and water treatment facilities. She has also successfully represented major insurers on a wide range of issues and policies including errors and omissions, directors and officers, property, and general liability insurance policies.

For her design professional clients, Blume provides industry expertise and corporate counseling related to contract negotiations, risk management, insurance procurement and coverage, fee disputes and employment issues. Blume's counseling skills are also fruitful in advising her insurance company clients on coverage issues and their resolution.

Blume is a longtime member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), an independent organization of over 35,000 members dedicated to the convergence of resources to develop and share claims and litigation management principles and ethical standards. She has been the Education Director of the organization's annual conference since 2009.

In 2011, the CLM's Advisory Board, which consists of senior claims executives at leading insurance companies and corporations, elected Blume to serve as the only outside counsel on the Board and, most recently, she was appointed to the Advisory Board of the CLM Management and Professional Liability community.

In 2013, Blume was recognized by the Chicago legal community as a "Woman Making an Impact" - a list put together by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin honoring 17 Chicago women attorneys who are making the greatest impact on the legal profession in Illinois. She has also been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois by the Leading Lawyer Network

Blume earned her J.D from The John Marshall Law School in 1991 and her B.A. from Michigan State University in 1985.
