Huntley Knights host free throw competition

The local Free Throw Championship Competition sponsored by the St. Mary of Huntley Knights of Columbus Council 11666 was held Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center in Huntley.

Girls and boys, age 9 to 14, participated for free at the local level of competition for the 2017 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

The contest is sponsored annually, with the winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions.

International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus International Headquarters based on scores from the state-level competitions.

All boys and girls 9 to 14 years old are eligible to participate and compete in their respective age divisions. Last year, more than 130,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,000 local competitions.
