Healthy Families Fun Fair set for Sept. 10

Advocate Sherman Hospital will host a Health Families Fun Fair on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

The fair, which takes place from 5 to 7 p.m., will include educational family activities provided in both English and Spanish.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about health cooking, eating and exercise as well as how to build a healthy snack. They also can participate in blood pressure and diabetes screenings, and meet Sherman Hospital doctors, dietitians and other health care providers.

Children who complete their "passport to fitness" will receive a special gift, and other family-friendly games will also take place.
