Nomad Theatre Co. to hold auditions for "The Clique"

The Nomad Theatre Company will hold auditions for "The Clique," the Black Box high school and college musical, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, and 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St. in St. Charles.

It is for ninth grade through college. The script contains adult content. It is not based on the movie "The Clique."Casting is for eight females and six males.

The performances will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, and 7 p.m. Sunday, March 8.

These are tuition-based educational programs. Tuition is $195. Cast members supply their own costumes, makeup and props. There are no scholarships available at this time. Parents or cast members are asked to volunteer in some capacity such as costumes coordination or clean up. All programs meet the Illinois State Board of Education Teaching Standards for Drama/Theatre Arts.

Tuition pays for space rental, scripts, music CDs, licensing of performance material, insurance, and lighting and sound technician.

The Nomad Theatre Company, sponsored by SELF, is a tuition-based, audition-only educational program. Appearing around the Fox Valley Area, the company produces a wide variety of projects all aimed at building self-esteem and leadership among youth from second grade through college. Cast members "create not imitate" by collaborating with the director to develop a show based on everyone's participation and imagination. Everyone gets a part.
