Lakeside Legacy Arts presents 'Songs of the Season' Dec. 6

Cassandra Vohs-Demann & Josh Hegner will perform in ‘the Listening Room' at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake, IL. These two artists will be performing “Songs of the Season” at 8:00pm on Friday, December 6th. The tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. Audiences will leave wrapped up in the holiday spirit.”

Vohs-Demann is the owner of “A Place to Shine Music” where, for 18 years, she has been teaching, performing, writing and producing music. She also has professional training in opera and acting in Chicago, where she performed with the Grant Park Symphony, toured with The New Organization for Vocal Artistry, and was an anthem soloist for the Chicago Bulls. She has been seen in performances across the United States, such as: Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, Washington State, Tennessee, Colorado, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. In 1999, Vohs-Demann shifted from opera to contemporary music. She began focusing more on her passion for writing and performing her own original songs. Since then, she has toured the Midwest as a solo performer and has been the lead vocalist for numerous rock bands. Cassandra currently performs regularly with her band, Cassandra and the Gravel Road Band, as a solo artist and is asked to collaborate regularly with other talented area musicians. She also performs regularly in Nashville Writer's Rounds while also a member of ASCAP and The Nashville Songwriters Association. Cassandra's mission statement: "Believe in what is possible..." It is her passion and soul's work to share music and inspire growth.

John Hegner has worked in Boston and New York creating commercial music for clients like Reebok, CBS and Bloomberg. He has composed, recorded, performed and produced music for TV, radio and film. Having extensive experience in a variety of ensembles and disciplines, ranging from rock and jazz to experimental music, Hegner has led workshops and participated in projects with poets, visual artists, and musicians. Hegner's first solo album, 254, is a suite of songs emphasizing meaningful lyrics and hypnotic melodies. The smooth, dreamy vocals invite the listener to share in his musical journey through love, loss, faith, inspiration, and reflections on life. He is currently touring the country, performing "salon style" house concerts, which offer both performer and audience a relaxed and engaging musical experience that is rare. Building an intimate rapport with his audience, John draws upon the ancient traditions of music and storytelling.

“Songs of the Season” is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm on December 6th. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
