• Dexter R. Roknich, 26, of the 1500 block of Webster Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested around 2 p.m. Sept. 7 on Algonquin Road at Reserve Drive and charged with possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, DUI, and traffic violations. Reports said an officer found a pill in his pocket and metal marijuana grinder in the center console. His court date is Oct. 24.

• Burglars forced open a rear door between noon and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at a home on the 600 block of East Burr Oak Drive and stole a ruby/emerald/diamond necklace, women's watch, men's watch, diamond bracelet, gold/ruby/diamond bracelet, costume jewelry, onyx/diamond/gold ring and cash. Value was estimated at $4,645.

• A shoplifter was seen taking four bottles of vitamins valued at $220 between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Sept. 9 from the Vitamin Shop, 1 W. Rand Road. The suspect's description matched with similar thefts at stores in Deerfield and Geneva, and in Brookfield, Wis.: a Hispanic male, 35 years old, 5-foot-7, 200 pounds, black hair, wearing a red shirt. He was with a Hispanic female, 35 years old, 5-foot-4, 150 pounds, wearing a white shirt and jeans.

• Burglars broke into a 2009 Honda CR-V between 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 7 in an apartment lot on the 2400 block of North Kennicott Drive and stole nursing school books. Loss was estimated at $600.

• Thieves stole a catalytic converter from a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier between 1:15 and 2 p.m. Sept. 9 in a store lot at 900 W. Algonquin Road and a catalytic converter from a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Plaza Del Grato mall lot, 1742 W. Algonquin Road. According to reports, Rolling Meadows officers took several similar reports in the area.

• Thieves stole 14 metal "For Rent" signs over the past two months from the parkway at an apartment complex at the intersection of Valley and Circle Hill roads. Officers speculated the thieves stole the signs for their metal value.

• Thieves stole an iPad valued at $300 between 11:10 and 11:25 a.m. Sept. 6 after the owner left it on a cabinet in a classroom at Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas.

• Thieves stole a designer purse with several credit cards and a cellphone between 8 and 9 a.m. Sept. 9 left outside the rear entrance at Panera Bread, 31 S. Evergreen.

• Thieves stole a workout bag around 12:03 a.m. Sept. 11 after the owner placed it next to a machine while working out on a nearby machine at Xsport Fitness, 960 W. Dundee Road, and broke into a locker at the same fitness center between 2:30 and 2:53 p.m. Sept. 11 and stole $100, debit card, 45 prescription antacid medication, and the lock.

• Burglars cut the hasps to defeat the locks on nine storage units between 6:10 p.m. Sept. 6 and 8:56 a.m. Sept. 7 at Public Storage, 903 E. Algonquin Road. Three unit renters have been contacted; two of them were unsure if property was taken. The third renter is missing four rims with winter tires valued at $1,700, two motorcycle exhaust pipes valued at $400 and one mid-pipe for the same motorcycle valued at $200.

• Burglars stole a TV and a radio system between 9 a.m. Aug. 31 and 10 a.m. Sept. 8 at a home on the 1300 block of Village Drive. Value was estimated at $600.

• Burglars stole a TV between noon Sept 2 and noon Sept. 9 out of an unoccupied apartment on the 500 block of East Seegers Road.

• Burglars stole a toolbox with tools, and a hand dolly between 6 p.m. Sept. 10 and 8:50 a.m. Sept. 11 from Ceratire Technical Services, 207 W. University Drive. Value was estimated at $379.

Barrington

• Laura L. Sagehorn, 23, of the 600 block of Signal Hill Road, Barrington, was arrested Aug. 29 at Route 59 and Main Street and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, DUI, no insurance and driving without headlights. Her court date is Oct. 10.

Bartlett

• Shontie N. Smith, 40, of the 100 block of South Hale Avenue, Bartlett, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at her home and charged with violation of owner's duties to animals. Her court date is Oct. 17.

• Thieves stole copper between July 10 and Aug. 23 from a house under renovation on the 1200 block of Pinetree Lane. Value was estimated at $5,800.

• Thieves stole a cellphone valued at $100 around 7:50 p.m. Sept. 11 from a female victim at school on the 700 block of Schick Road.

• Burglars stole a wireless headset, cellphone, designer sunglasses and a docking station around 8 a.m. Sept. 11 out of an open garage on the 300 block of South Prospect Avenue. Value was estimated at $1,100.

• Burglars stole an iPod, pack of cigarettes, a credit card and debit card and charged items on the debit card around 5 p.m. Sept. 10. Loss was estimated at $716.

• Burglars stole a camcorder, white gold ring and loose change between Aug. 21 and Sept. 10 out of a home under foreclosure on the 1100 block of Dorchester Lane. Value was estimated at $660.

• Burglars stole a wallet valued over $100 out of an unlocked truck and a laptop computer valued at $500 out of an unlocked garage around 12:15 a.m. Sept. 8 on the 1000 block of Trillium Lane.

• Burglars stole a purse, textbooks, cash and cologne around 10 a.m. Sept. 8 out of three unlocked vehicles in a driveway on the 200 block of Gingerbrook Lane. Loss was estimated over $1,000.

• Burglars stole power tools, full gas cans and yard maintenance equipment around 2 a.m. Sept. 7 out of four sheds at homes on the 1100 block of Independence Drive. Value was estimated at several hundred dollars.

• Offenders damaged the putting green on hole 5 and stole the white tee box marker from hole 6 around 9 a. m. Sept. 7 at a Bartlett Park District golf course on the 600 block of West Stearns Road. Loss was estimated at $25.

• Burglars stole a camera and lens around 4 p.m. Sept. 7 out of a car in a driveway on the 1400 block of Newcastle Lane. Value was estimated at $900.

Palatine

• Robert R. Neff, 35, of the 700 block of East Independence Drive, Palatine, was arrested Sept. 8 at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road, and charged with local ordinance retail theft after he was accused of placing a $15.97 price tag on a $47.97 sleeping bag and hiding a hand saw in his front pocket. Value was estimated at $54.

• Burglars stole two GPS systems between 11 p.m. Sept. 6 and 1 p.m. Sept. 7 out of a 2007 Jeep on the 200 block of South Elm Street.

• Burglars broke into a 1997 Honda and stole a car stereo and broke into a 1998 Volkswagen and stole a car stereo, flashlight, tool, cellphone charger kit, and a windbreaker jacket valued at $60 between 9 p.m. Sept. 6 and 7 a.m. Sept. 7 in a lot on the 200 block of South Rohlwing Road.

• Burglars stole a wallet with cash, credit cards, social security card, and driver's license between 8 p.m. Sept. 8 and 8 a.m. Sept. 9 on the 300 block of East Rimini Court. Value was estimated at $1,517.

Des Plaines

• Thomas James Pelletiere, 40, of the 1000 block of Walter Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 7:15 a.m. Sept. 5 at his home and charged with battery. Reports said he punched a civil process server in the chest when the victim tried to serve court paper for his father. A court date is Sept. 30.

• Christine Czajka-Homer, 49, of the 6000 block of North Melvina, Chicago, was arrested around 3:25 p.m. Sept. 5 at Rand Manor Motel, 1322 Rand Road, and charged with criminal trespass. She had been warned to stay away but she returned, reports said. Her court date is Oct. 7.

• Kyle R. Kopecky, 30, of the 1700 block of Birch Street, Des Plaines, was arrested around 7:10 p.m. Sept. 5 on the 1200 block of South Lee Street and charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with license suspended and no proof of insurance. His court date is Sept. 13.

• Jose M. Benavides, 28, of the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:17 p.m. Sept. 6 on the 1000 block of South Elmhurst Road and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and traffic violations.

• Burglars stole a stainless steel watch valued at $3,000 between 8 p.m. Sept. 9 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 10 out of an unlocked Acura MDX on the 200 block of Cumberland Parkway.

• Vandals poured black paint over a monument, damaging the stone and covering the deceased's name, between 6 p.m. Aug. 31 and 9 a.m. Sept. 3 at All Saints Cemetery, 700 River Road. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

• Thieves stole a black 2006 BMW 650 CI between 8:15 p.m. Sept. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 5 out of a parking lot at 1011 E. Touhy Ave.

• Thieves stole a white 2000 Great Dane trailer belonging to Columbus Oils, 30 E. Oakton St., between Aug. 1 and Sept. 5. It was discovered missing during inventory.

• Vandals cut four tires and scratched all sides on a Honda Accord between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in a lot on the 1300 block of South Lee Street. Damage was estimated at $2,400.

• Burglars stole a cellphone, black backpack with miscellaneous papers, and a computer tablet between 5 p.m. Aug. 30 and 5 p.m. Sept 4 out of a Toyota in a garage on the 1700 block of Morse Avenue. Value was estimated at $1,460.

• Two men were seen entering an unlocked Chevrolet Express van between 2:27 and 4 a.m. Sept. 6 on the 2000 block of East Sherwin Avenue. They reportedly took three drain routing machines, two spools of 10 gauge electrical wire and a box of specialty tools. Value was estimated at $5,080.

• Thieves stole a large green garbage can between 10 p.m. Sept. 4 and 4 p.m. Sept. 5 from the parkway at a home on the 1800 block of Big Bend Drive. Value was estimated at $35.

• Burglars stole a desktop computer and flat panel monitor between 6:10 and 8:20 p.m. Sept. 4 out of an unlocked office at the Des Plaines Park District building, 515 E. Thacker St. Value was estimated at $700.

• Vandals smashed both side mirrors between 6 p.m. Sept. 4 and 6 a.m. Sept. 5 on a Toyota Camry on the 1800 block of Everette Avenue. Damage was estimated at $690.

• Burglars stole a cellphone valued at $550 between 4 and 6 p.m. Sept. 7 out of a home on the 1300 block of Brown Street.

• Thieves stole a cellphone valued at $400 around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 after the owner left it next to a slot machine at Rivers Casino, 3000 River Road,

• Burglars reached through an open window between 10 p.m. Sept. 5 and 3 a.m. Sept. 6, opened a Toyota Camry on the 300 block of Anita Street and stole ane entertainment book, 32 rolls of nickels, loose change, blue and gray duffel bag, and e-reader. Value was estimated at $154.

• Burglars stole an iPod valued at $250 between 10 p.m. Sept. 5 and 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6 out of a Hyundai on the 0-100 block of East Washington Street.

• Burglars broke into a Plymouth Voyager minivan between 6:15 and 8:50 p.m. Sept. 8 at Stark and Leahy Circle streets and stole an automotive jack valued at $200.

• Burglars broke into a Toyota 4Runner between 7 and 7:33 p.m. Sept. 8 in a lot on the 1700 block of South Wolf Road and stole a wallet valued at $50.

• Thieves stole a battery/step cover between 3 p.m. Aug. 6 and 3 p.m. Aug. 8 from a Volvo semi-truck in a truck lot on the 1800 block of South Elmhurst Road. Value was estimated at $900.

Elk Grove Village

• Robert W. Molitor, 48, of the 600 block of Glacier Trail, Roselle, was arrested around 11:10 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Roselle Police Department and charged with criminal trespass to residence. His court date is Oct. 9.

• David Orsini, 23, of the 1000 block of Glen Crest Drive, Inverness, was arrested around 10:10 a.m. Sept. 3 at Busse Road and Greenleaf Avenue and charged with resisting a peace officer. His court date is Oct. 2.

• Michael A. Geary, 26, of the 1400 block of Oakwood Street, Des Plaines, was arrested around 8 p.m. Sept. 3 at 901 Wellington Ave. and charged with criminal trespass to building. His court date is Oct. 17.

• Cody A. Williams, 19, Arthur J. Halper, 22, and Miguel G. Hughes, 32, all of the 1100 block of Warwick Lane, Elk Grove Village, were arrested between 9:25 a.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 29. Williams was charged with unlawful possession of ecstasy, possession and delivery of a controlled substance and delivery of marijuana. Halper was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hughes was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and theft. Their court date is Sept. 26.

• Burglars broke into two trailers between Aug. 2 and 5 in a lot at Gem Exteriors, 1390 Howard St., and stole a generator and cordless drill out of one and several saws, drills and an air compressor out of the other trailer. Loss was estimated at $7,100.

• Burglars stole a flashlight and designer watch between 9 p.m. Aug. 6 and 5 a.m. Aug. 7 out of an unlocked 2007 Honda Civic on the 1000 block of West Glenn Trail. Value was estimated at $750.

• Burglars broke a window between 11:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Aug. 23 at a home on the 900 block of Hartford Lane and stole a TV, games, controller, two iPods and watches. Value was estimated at $3,500.

• Burglars broke a window on a back door between 9:15 and 10:10 a.m. Aug. 27 and stole several watches, various necklaces, bracelets and earrings out of a home on the 500 block of Laurel Street. Loss was estimated at $1,100.

• Burglars stole a wallet valued at $350 out of an unlocked 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck between 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Aug 30.

• Burglars stole a wallet with money, gift cards and driver's license between 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Aug. 30 out of an unlocked 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on the 500 block of Cressen Avenue. Value was estimated at $350.

Hanover Park

• Jose M. Gomez-Valeriano, 20, of the 700 block of Surrey, Streamwood, was arrested around 5:35 p.m. Sept. 12 at East and Magnolia roads and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Matthew R. Sherwood, 24, of the 2100 block of Maple, Hanover Park, was arrested around 2:45 p.m. Sept. 10 at Center and Maple and charged with possession of marijuana and driving while license suspended.

• Patrick F.D. Souza, 24, of the 2000 block of Garden, Park Ridge, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. Sept. 8 on the 1600 block of Walnut and charged with local ordinance fighting.

• Patrick A. Donnellan, 57, of the 1300 block of Nantucket, Carol Stream, was arrested around 9 p.m. Sept. 8 at Bear Flag and Lake streets and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

• Jonathan D. Mendoza, 18, of the 2200 block of Morningside, Carpentersville, was arrested around 12:40 a.m. Sept. 7 and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• Omar Vargas, 18, of the 11800 block of Whaler, Hanover Park, was arrested around 10:25 a.m. Sept. 7 on the 1500 block of Merrimack and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Manuel Herrera, 20, of the 1700 block of McKool, Streamwood, was arrested around 4:35 p.m. Sept. 7 at Hemlock and Hickory and charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful use of a weapon.

• Burglars stole a purse and backpack overnight Sept. 11 out of a car on the 6800 block of Apple Tree. Burglars also stole a camera and MP3 player out of another vehicle on the same block during the same time.

• Thieves stole a work phone and two pocket knives around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 11 out of a gym bag at LA Fitness, 7650 Barrington Road.

• Burglars stole a laptop computer around 10 a.m. Sept. 7 out of a vehicle on the 7700 block of Bolton.

• Burglars stole a purse around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 6 out of a vehicle on the 7400 block of Jensen.

Mount Prospect

• Vandals shattered a window near an entrance door at John Jay School, 1855 Pheasant Trail, between Sept. 6 and 9. Damage was estimated at $50.

• Vandals used black spray paint to write gang graffiti on a side of the concession stand in Meadows Park, 1401 George St., overnight Sept. 6 to 7. Damage was estimated at $20.

Schaumburg

• Michael B. Kelleher, 24, of the 600 block of Midnight Pass, Antioch, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. Aug. 30 at Drink Nightclub, 871 E. Algonquin Road, and charged with criminal trespass. Reports said he refused to stop fighting with customers and refused to leave. His court date is Sept. 19.

• Shadrack J. Dorleans, 19, of the 2500 block of Brush Road, Schaumburg, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft after a security agent accused him of taking six items of clothing. His court date is Sept. 30.

• Dominik Gielas, 34, of the 1200 block of South Old Wilke Road, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 5 p.m. Aug. 31 at Lord & Taylor in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft after a security agent accused him of taking a pair of pants. His court date is Sept. 20.

• Nauman Nasiruddin Shamji, 24, of the 1400 block of Della Drive, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. Aug. 29 at Kohl's, 410 E. Golf Road, and charged with retail theft after a security agent accused him of taking a coat. His court date is Oct. 2.

• Marcin Kopiczko, 26, of the 100 block of Azela, Streamwood, was arrested around 8:20 p.m. Aug. 27 at his home and charged with criminal damage to property. According to report, his friend told police he kicked and cracked her windshield around 10:10 p.m. Aug. 25 while she was driving him to another friend's house. The reports said he was angry she would not drive him someplace else. His court date is Sept. 20.

• Kevin Rivera, 18, of the 0-100 block of East Fullerton Avenue, Northlake, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at Claire's in Woodfield Mall and charged with assault. Reports said a female employee told officers Rivera had threatened her when she confronted his brother about a theft of earrings valued at $5. His court date is Sept. 20.

Streamwood

• Robert Hernandez, 19, of the 1100 block of Blackhawk, Elgin, was arrested around 12:50 p.m. Sept. 4 at 401 E. Irving Park Road and charged with minor in possession of liquor in public.

Simon M. Muller, 21, of the 100 block of East Briarwood, Streamwood, was arrested around 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at Jewel, 217 E. Irving Park Road, and charged with criminal trespass to land.
