Panera Bread® Celebrates Fifteen Years in Buffalo Grove

CHICAGO, IL – May 21, 2013 – On Friday, June 7th, 2013, Panera Bread at 1224 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove is inviting customers to celebrate the bakery-café's fifteenth anniversary by sharing complimentary coffee or tea from open to close.

"We are very proud of what we have achieved at Buffalo Grove," said Mike Zappala, Regional Director of Operations for Chicago Bread, LLC a franchisee of Panera Bread. "We're looking forward to celebrating more anniversaries with our customers and joining them in supporting our local communities."

The coffee is in good company with Panera's breakfast offerings including the roasted turkey and sun-dried tomato pesto breakfast sandwich. True to Panera's tradition, the company's team of culinary experts chose only exceptional quality ingredients – thick slices of antibiotic-free turkey, sun-dried tomato pesto and a freshly cracked egg all grilled on a freshly baked soft roll. The made-to-order sandwich is a delicious culinary combination that can easily be taken on the go or savored over a leisurely breakfast in the bakery-cafe.

An Active Community Partner

Since the 1998 opening of Panera Bread in Buffalo Grove, the bakery-café has been an active participant in the community in which it does business through Panera's national Operation Dough-Nation® programs, including the local Day-End Dough-Nation™ and Community Breadbox™ programs.

At the end of each day, Panera Bread donates all unsold bread and baked goods to local area non-profit organizations as part of its local Day-End Dough-Nation program. Panera Bread in Buffalo Grove has donated more than $255,000 worth of unsold bread and baked goods to help people in need for the past fifteen years.

As part of the local Community Breadbox program, all cash donations made by customers are donated to the Make-A-Wish® Illinois, a charity that helps grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions. The Buffalo Grove bakery-café is raising funds to grant the wish of Emma, a five year old from Northbrook diagnosed with Lymphoid Leukemia, who wishes to experience a luau in Hawaii.
