LONG GROVE AND KILDEER NEIGHBORS AND NEWCOMERS CLUB HOSTING ROYAL BABY SHOWER TO BENEFIT LOCAL BABIES

LONG GROVE -- Prince William and Kate Middleton garnered worldwide attention when they married April 29th, 2011. And once more, we have a very big reason to celebrate.

The Long Grove and Kildeer Neighbors and Newcomers Club will be hosting “A Royal Baby Shower” in Long Grove on April 30, 2013 in honor of the impending arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new little prince or princess. Ladies of Long Grove or Kildeer are welcome to attend “The Royal Baby Shower,” to join the Newcomers Club or even come and just experience one of our fun outings or charitable outreach efforts.

In honor of the good works done by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the U.K., we will be doing our part here at home. All of the baby gifts donated at “The Royal Baby Shower” will be donated to the Preservation of Human Dignity (PHD) helping women and their families. Donated items will go into their baby closet located in Palatine, IL. Their objective is to provide "a hand up, not a hand out." PHD is especially looking for formula, diapers (sizes 1-5,) baby food-all stages, clothes-especially boys pants sizes 3-5 and shirts, pacifiers, and cardboard books.

“The Long Grove & Kildeer Newcomers Club is primarily a social club that enjoys spending time together in our community with many activities to include bunco, bridge, ladies night out, wine tasting, girls about town, movies, book club, exercise, a multitude of gourmet cooking events/dinners, and meetings along with guest speakers throughout the year.” said event organizer Susan Fasano.

Club members have long supported local charities for children and important causes in the community. Among the groups supported over the years are: The Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, The Pajama Program through Vernon Library which provides books and nighttime clothing to children in shelters and foster care programs, and also the Vernon and Ela Food Pantry and holiday family adoptions.

Donations for The Royal Baby Shower, or checks made out to PHD, can be dropped off in advance by emailing pbpinc@aol.com to make arrangements. All donations will be presented to PHD following the event.
