Fremd shows flair in win at Wheeling

Fremd’s girls gymnastics team delivered another impressive performance in winning a Mid-Suburban League triangular meet Tuesday at Wheeling.

Led by all-around winner Christine Jensen, the Vikings produced a score of 144.15.

Jensen’s all-around total was 35.85; the junior won balance beam (9.25) and had top-three finishes on vault and floor exercise.

Fremd’s other first-place finishes came from sophomore Christine Radochonski (vault, 9.35), sophomore Sydney Plichta (uneven bars, 9.3) and Emily Pinderski (floor, 9.35).

The Vikings had the top five placements on bars, beam and floor exercise.

Senior Jordan Mann placed third on vault (8.55) to lead second-place Buffalo Grove, which scored 121.1.

The Bison three of the top five all-arounders. Mann (33.05) was second, while freshman Diandra Duenser was fourth (30.4) and junior Erika Ray (30.25) was fifth.

The top efforts for Wheeling (116.25) came from junior Anne Janulis, who finished third in the all-around (31.35) and seventh on vault (8.25), beam (7.85) and floor exercise (8.25).
