Knightsbridge Wine Shoppe hosts annual Burgundy Wine Tasting Dec 2

More than 100 fine wines will be available for tasting at Knightsbridge Wine Shoppe in Northbrook on the first Sunday in December. The Shoppe’s fourth annual Burgundy tasting will feature newer and somewhat older vintages from some top producers such as Mugnier, Cathiard, Champy, Pousse D’Or, and Louis Jadot, said Kevin Mohalley, Knightsbridge President and Wine Director.

The tasting will run from noon until 4 p.m. and has an entry fee of $25, which can be applied to purchases made that day. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 847-498-9300. Knightsbridge is at 824 Sunset Ridge Road. Along with the wines open, there will be another 200+ with special pricing just for the event.

“There’s nothing like this anywhere else in the country,” said Mohalley. “It is rare to have this many Grand Cru and Premier Cru level wines all open at one time to compare and contrast. And while we generally attract many connoisseurs, our ambiance is informal and everyone who would like to learn more about Burgundy is welcome.”

He explained that there will be tables set up around the store where tasters can talk with importers and learn about the individual wines.

“It’s a fun way to start the holiday season – and to prepare for the celebrations coming up,” he said.

Knightsbridge is an open window to the world of fine wines, a relaxed feast for the senses and acclaimed as one of the prettiest wine and spirits shops in the country. Its goal is education, helping everyone truly appreciate the vast variety of choices in the world of wine and how they complement the taste of any food. Its feel is informal, its selection is vast and our pleasure is to help you find the right selections for any situation. Enjoy!
