Business Ledger names Dist. 54 official as top CFO

타 The Daily Herald Business Ledger selected Ric King, assistant superintendent District 54, as a 2012 honoree in its first CFO of the Year Awards. King was nominated by the District 54 School Board.

The CFO awards honor top financial executives, who contribute to the success of the region’s economic growth and stability.

King, in his first year as the assistant superintendent of business services, has been the controller of District 54 since 1995. In 2000, he also took on the role of director of facilities. Prior to coming to District 54, he was a manager at McGladrey & Pullen.

King will receive his award during a reception July 19, at Danada House, in Wheaton. The Daily Herald Business Ledger will also publish a special section profiling this year’s 15 honorees in its Sept. 3 issue.

타 School District 59 Board of Education approved the appointment of Kalie Printz to assistant principal at Juliette Low Elementary School, Arlington Heights.

Printz, who is completing her fourth year as a bilingual teacher at Juliette Low, has also taught first grade, third grade, and a four/five multi-grade class. She has been instrumental in the school’s work toward improving the Bilingual Instructional Program and in making connections to the Hispanic parent population.

Printz also implemented a bimonthly parent/student education program as well as organized and led summer educational field trips for families.

타 The Men’s Club of Congregation Beth Judea, Long Grove, elected the following new officers and directors for 2012-2014: President, David Granoff of Buffalo Grove; membership vice presidents, Fred Rabinowitz of Arlington Heights and Andy Bauman of Buffalo Grove; programming vice presidents, Orin Rotman of Buffalo Grove, Brian Schwartz of Vernon Hills and Mike Gluck of Vernon Hills; ritual vice presidents, Eric Yegelwel of Buffalo Grove and Steve Flack of Buffalo Grove; publicity, Norm Kurtz of Buffalo Grove; secretary, Evan Rumack of Arlington Heights; treasurer, Glen Gardberg of Buffalo Grove and Gary Malkin of Buffalo Grove; house, Sandy Victor of Buffalo Grove; board of directors, Jerry Sakol of Buffalo Grove and Bob Weisman of Wildwood.

타 Congratulations to Jered Milton of the Des Plaines Fire Department, who was appointed to the position of firefighter/engineer on May 11.

A coffee and cake reception, attended by city of Des Plaines officials, Milton’s family, friends and co-workers, was held in his honor at Fire Station #1. Mayor Martin J. Moylan issued the oath of firefighter/engineer to Milton during the reception.

Milton was originally hired on May 3, 2004, and became a firefighter/paramedic on July 9, 2005.
