3 Northwest suburban teachers Golden Apple finalists

Golden Apple Wednesday announced 32 finalists for the prestigious award for excellence in teaching, with three of them from the Northwest suburbs. They are Tricia Michele Fuglestad, who teaches art to kindergarten through 5th grade at Dryden Elementary School in Arlington Heights; Maria Barba, who teaches 3rd grade at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in Hoffman Estates; and Robert William Taylor, who teaches 2nd grade at Central Road Elementary School in Rolling Meadows. They were chosen from among hundreds of applicants and nominees teaching kindergarten through 3rd grade in the Chicago area. Ten winners will be announced in May.
