To help raise awareness of the resources available to individuals with special needs and their families, state Rep. Carol Sente of Vernon Hills will host a Special Needs Citizen Advisory Committee and Forum on Monday, Sept. 26. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Laschen Community Center, 294 Evergreen Drive, Vernon Hills. Presentation topics will include special education and special recreation, government benefits, guardianship and planning, legal rights, independent service coordination and current legislation.
