Daily Herald report

Residents can hear directly from ComEd officials regarding power outages and other issues at a town-hall meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Vernon Area Public Library Meeting Room, 300 Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire.

State Rep. Carol Sente of Vernon Hills, who is hosting the meeting, said she was told the unusual nature of the summer storms led to extreme outages. But she said a lack of communication from ComEd involving customers being given inaccurate estimates for when power would be restored needs to be improved.
