Thanks to all who got involved

I would like to take a moment to thank all of those who worked with us in this past election cycle. It has been a joy an honor to work with so many dedicated of people. There are a few groups I would like to thank here in a public manner.

First off, thanks to all of you who took the time Nov. 2 to get to the polls and cast a ballot. The right to select your representatives in free and public elections has been a cornerstone of this country for over 200 years. Thanks to each of you who exercised this right yesterday.

Thanks also to all of you who have helped us contact voters going back to last August. There have been hot days, cold days, sunny days and rainy days, but through it all you went out and knocked on doors to educate voters about our candidates and the qualifications they bring.

I owe a very important thank you to those of you who served as election judges 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.-plus is a long day by anyone's standards. We appreciate your work to ensure a free and honest election more than I can express here.

Finally, thanks to all of the candidates from all parties who made the effort to run for office throughout the county. I realize the sacrifices you've made, the jobs you're taken leave from, the time spent away from family and friends, and the long days you've put in during your respective campaigns. It is ultimately your name that is on the ballot, and your good word that is on the line. Thank you all of you civic-minded individuals who put their name forward in an effort to represent your communities.
